Oman’s 1st smart city to be set up in SEZ in Duqm

Oman has signed an MoU with South Korea to develop its first smart city in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Duqm. As per the MoU, South Korea will do a comprehensive study to explore the development of smart city principals in Duqm. South Korea has ostensibly developed the world’s first smart city, the Songdo International Business District, which cost over USD 40 Bln and will feature more than 100 smart buildings on completion.
