Maersk, MSC looking to cut costs through slow steaming

Container shippers such as MSC and Maersk are relying on slow-steaming as a way to cut costs and improve reliability. Bunker costs have been rising strongly since March and so have fuel costs. By going slower vessels can better adhere to more realistic schedules and avoid congestion at ports.
