India’s Essar Ports planning to invest in Beira in Mozambique

Essar Ports signed a 30-year concession agreement with the Mozambican government to develop the Beira coal terminal as a Public Private Partnership (PPP) project. The project would be executed on a Design, Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (DBOOT) concept through the New Coal Terminal Beira, SA (NCTB SA), a joint venture of Essar (70%) and Mozambique’s port and rail company, CFM (30%).
