Poland is investigating the use of hydrogen as fuel for freight trains

The Polish coal mining company JSW and national rail freight operator PKP Cargo have agreed to analyse the use of hydrogen as a fuel for rail freight. If proven feasible, the companies plan to produce new types of hydrogen-powered locomotives with an aim to reduce consumption of energy, carbon emissions and create investment opportunities through the initiative.
