After a 12-month trial phase with over 154 million shipping events captured on the blockchain, the early adopter programme is now live. The partnership model has been revised after industry players had expressed concerns over “too much Maersk control”. TradeLens is expected to become fully commercially available by the end of 2018. Over 92 organisations have already signed up to the initiative and these include port and terminal operators, ocean shipping lines, customs authorities, freight forwarders and logistics companies.
