South Africa is looking at emulating China’s special economic zone (SEZ) model to drive future economic growth. Presently, South Africa has eight SEZs in six provinces to promote economic growth and address unemployment and poverty and the government hopes to attract via SEZ local and foreign investors to help advance industrialization of the country.
