The Government of Kenya looks to unlock the economic benefits offered by Special Economic Zones by offering a slew of tax and non-tax benefits to encourage foreign investors as well as local industry players who can use the opportunity to competitively access international markets. The SEZ push indicates a policy shift away from Export Processing Zones (EPZ) which have been unable to attain the desired economic impact.
