Japan and China could cooperate on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)

China and Japan have agreed to increase collaboration in the private sector, particularly in the area of infrastructure as part of Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative. China also wants to work with Japan in the development of newer digital technologies such as artificial intelligence and advanced electronic settlement systems, as well as boost bilateral cooperation in the financial sector.
