EC trims growth forecast of EU to 2.1% expecting escalation of trade war

The European commission (EC) has revised its growth forecasts for the UK and Europe for 2018 having factored in the damaging impact of the US-China trade war. The growth forecast for the EU is now 2.1% for 2018, down from the earlier forecast of 2.3%. The growth forecast 2019 for EU remains unchanged at 2%.
