Container shipping rates benefit from tariffs, trade issues and capacity cuts

Container shipping rates to both US coasts have risen, thanks to a buoyant US economy, tighter vessel supply, trade shifts and the tariff row. Spot container rates from Asia-to-US West Coast are at over USD 2000 per feu, up 75 percent and Asia-to-US East Coast rates are at USD 3,000 per feu, up 36 percent from the start of July.
