Cargo flow through Russia’s Northern Sea Lane expected to grow by 50% this year

The northern sea lane, which is a major sea passage in the Russian Arctic, has seen an increase of 200% in cargo flow since the first quarter of 2017. The higher-than-expected performance can see this year’s cargo flow touch volumes beyond the predicted figure of 12-14 million tons.
