The northern Chinese city of Caofeidian could become the world’s first fully autonomous harbour by 2018-end. Caofeidian, that processes around 300,000 TEU containers a year, has engaged several tech companies to replace human-driven terminal tractor-trucks with self-driving models, introduce crane automation, and a central control system to coordinate movements of both.
